BBQ Montage
And here's something new.
A montage from Baird's summer BBQ party.
Although in actuality, this is the planned intro to the film we've been planning to make. To bring people up to speed, we decided just opening it (with a scene of Emily's character returning from a party) was too slow, and we wanted something more...kickass.
So here's the opening montage! There's a few things I'm not sure about still. Like shots where people acknowledge the camera. I don't know whether to keep them to give it a home video look, or whether to try and make it all look like people don't know the camera is there.
Suggestions on that are good.
I also don't really like the end. The music or the fade doesn't feel right.
But other than that, enjoy the montage. It'll hopefully be in the film, but, it's also us, partying, so have a laugh!

there's far too much of me!
There's no way i'm gonna be the superhero with that much of me in the opening!
also ems looks boring most of the time. damn her lack of interactions! grr. lets all go grr together! grr.... just me then...
actually after the second viewing i have these aditional comments.
fantastic shot of that sandal mr valentine! in the bit with quick shots i love it!
take out the bit where ems turns cas it looks like she's storming off in a huff.
and as for the fade, the music can carry on into the next scene and slowly get softer as she gets to her door, and that way it'll seem less of a cut-off thingy mabob.
and we really do need more of you.
and would it work if bootey's there cas the others don't know him.

actually i may be wrong about the turning bit.
I'm not sure about the turning bit either. It DOES look like she's storming off, but if you watch Jon, he kinda opens his arms and grins. It looks like he's hitting on her, and she's just sighing and turning away.
BUT it flashes by so quickly, I dunno if you can see it. Sadly, I have so few shots of Ems, I kinda had to make do with what I had. I'll have another dig through the shots, see if we have anything else I can replace it with.
I thought I got her dancing at some point.
Sadly, that's pretty much THE only shot of me I could find. I think there's a few more, but I couldn't find them (an hour worth of footage made it hard).
I'll keep looking, see what I can improve.
Oh yeah, as for Boote, I know we aren't meant to know him, but you are, and it's a big party.
So I figure he's there by coincidence, so it's like you kinda recognised him, but the rest of us just blanked him.
At least that's my excuse, because it's hard to cut him out of the shots.
