Hold Me

So, this Monday and Tuesday are the days of Reading University's second year film and theatre festival!

Isn't that dramatic sounding?

What it actually means is that all the second year work is going to be shown on those two days, the live performances of the plays for those who did theatre, and the screening of our films for those of us that did film.

This is very scary.

See, thing with film and theatre that feels so different is with other subjects, you do something academic, people are interested in your method, how you did it. You write an essay, people look at how you answered the question.

Even if you write a story, the only people who read it are people you want to.

Now, in front of an audience of all my year (and some extras), people will see my film (along with everybody elses), and it's dead scary. My film isn't like an essay. It's much more creative. Everybody's are vastly different. Some are genius ideas.

Mine is not.

I wince every time I had to watch mine in editing.

And now it's going to be shown to an audience all hoping and praying their films are better than everybody elses.

And that's bloody scary.

I dunno. Maybe everybody else goes through something similar in other subjects. But here, I've had the stress of doing the work. I've ripped my hair out about getting it right. And now it's gotta be shown, and I'm dreading it.

I almost don't wanna go, but wanna see all the other films. Some sound amazing.

So, it's scary.

In an ideal world, I'd show it to my uni friends alone and leave it at that. Kim, the Sarahs and Mitch I don't mind seeing it. But the entire year? Slightly scarier.

(Also struck me none of you lot know my uni mates at all; yet I seem to know yours through word passed on and such, I really should talk about them more I guess!).

In much lighter news, and away from the almost angst ridden typical blog that I hate to write, this is the most awesome thing ever, bar none:

There are a few like that. Theme songs with words. And they're all genius.
